Flexible deposit options help first home buyers into the market

Flexible deposit options help first home buyers into the market

RAMS is offering first home buyers a range of flexible deposit options to purchase a home, helping them to find their ideal home sooner.

Some home buyers find it challenging to save for a full 20 per cent deposit, due partly to the high cost of renting and the rising cost of living, however this doesn’t mean buyers have to miss out on owning property. RAMS has a number of flexible deposit options to help customers find their home sooner.

Often parents or family members would like to help their children get a foot on the property ladder, but may not be in a financial position to offer assistance with a deposit. With the right support and legal advice, some parents who want to help could choose to become a guarantor for a home loan.

Jarrad Straight, Home Loan Specialist from RAMS Alexander Heights said it’s important for first home buyers to seek advice to find the best, most responsible path to home ownership.

“We encourage first home buyers to work with us to find the best option for them when it comes to owning their own property. With our flexible deposit options, we have been able to help customers who had previously thought home ownership or investment was a distant dream.”

“Guarantor loans are one option, which give home buyers the opportunity to get their foot on the property ladder.”

How does it work?

The guarantor provides RAMS with a guarantee for an equivalent value of a percentage of the property price, supported by a mortgage on their existing property.

Additionally, the applicant must be able to prove they can afford the mortgage with their income or they will be ineligible as a guarantor. It is essential that the guarantor seeks independent legal advice to ensure it is the right decision for them.

Jarrad Straight says RAMS can help with:

- A home loan that is structured in a way that best suits individual circumstances

- Assistance with flexible deposit options to help buyers achieve the dream of home ownership sooner

“We understand that everyone’s circumstances are different, so we’ll sit down with the customer and draw up a plan that is right for them and their unique situation.”
