In business, you don’t get what you deserve; you get what you negotiate”  - Chester L Karrass

Join Wanneroo Business Association and Fortuna Advisory Group, our Business in the Spotlight for September, as they host a workshop with guest speaker Ernest Boswarva

With more and more businesses stretching operations beyond the geographical boundaries of their host countries, this subject is emerging as one of paramount importance. To emerge as potential winners of the ongoing ‘Australasian century’, it is time we Australians equip ourselves with how best to negotiate with our cross-cultural business counterparts,be it in Australia or abroad.   The workshop will cover:

Business Contracts vs. Relationships

Is there more than one style of securing an opportunity?

Doing business deals that lead to a string of deals.

How to capitalise on the cultural gap(s)?

Where are you hiding your negotiating skills?

With nearly 3 decades of expertise in law and management, Ernest Boswarva has established himself as an authority in the field of cross-cultural business negotiations. His journey from a student of law in South Africa to becoming an adjunct lecturer in International Business, International Business Negotiations and Dispute Resolution at the University of Murdoch’s Business School has been vibrant and eventful.  During these years, Ernest has not only practiced as Attorney in the High Court of South Africa and is qualified as a Lawyer at the Supreme Court of  NSW, but also held senior positions and directorship across several multi-national companies, including Bataan Polyehtylene Corporation Philippines, Petronas Malaysia and Syngas Ltd, Weste rn Australia.  He has also served as Chief Legal Counsel of Engen Limited– South Africa’s largest oil and gas company.

Ernest has earned his popularity by playing a leading role in many cross-cultural negotiations with experience in Sub Saharan Africa, North and South America, South East Asia, Middle East and Europe.  He has lived in South Africa, Malaysia and Iran, before finally settling in Australia.
