About the Wanneroo Business Association

The Wanneroo Business Association (WBA) came about after the formation of the new City of Wanneroo (COW) in the late 1990s when a group of business people realised an association was needed to look after the interests of the new local authority.

The new association drew on a long history of the previous Wanneroo Chamber of Commerce formed back in the early 1970s.

The steering committee charged with establishing a new representative body chose the “Business Association” model over other models including a chamber of commerce because it was felt that a business association better reflected the local business community and made a fresh start distancing itself from the past.
